Apple Intelligence
Markify uses Apple Intelligence on your Mac: the system Writing Tools and Apple's on-device language model. Your text isn't sent to a server, and every change waits for you to keep it.
Note
Apple Intelligence needs a Mac with Apple silicon and Apple Intelligence turned on in System Settings › Apple Intelligence & Siri. On other Macs, Markify works the same without these features. If the model is still downloading, Markify says “Preparing on-device model…”.
Working on a selection
Select text and click the Apple Intelligence symbol at the left of the format bar, or press ⇧⌘W:
- Describe your change in your own words and press Return.
- Proofread and Rewrite open the system Writing Tools.
- Friendly, Professional and Concise rewrite the selection in that tone.
- Summary, Key Points, List and Table turn the selection into that form.
Working on the whole document
Click the Apple Intelligence symbol at the top right of the window to:
- describe a change to the whole document,
- proofread or rewrite it,
- Summarize it in a paragraph at the top,
- add a Key points section,
- Suggest title & tags, which fills in the frontmatter,
- Continue writing at the caret.
Generating at the caret
On an empty line, press ⌘↩ (or type /write) to have Apple Intelligence continue from what you've written. The text streams in dimmed; press ⌘↩ again to keep it, or Escape to discard it. Choose the tone and whether the surrounding section is used as context in Settings › Intelligence.
Reviewing changes
Rewritten text appears inside a multicolor edge. Compare it with the original, Try Again, Discard Rewrite, or Accept it. ⌘Z undoes an accepted change.
In OKF concepts, Settings › Intelligence › Record AI edits in OKF concepts also covers system Writing Tools. When its session ends with changes to the concept's body, Markify records Apple Intelligence as the producer. Discarding all changes leaves attribution unchanged.
